So here we are almost done with June!! Hard to believe it has been almost 2 months since we left Rio and another 1 1/2 till we are back!! Honestly, neither of us have been up to anything that is all that exciting to write about but I thought I would write a little something for those that are checking our blog and are disappointed when there is nothing new.
Pat come down about 2 weeks ago for a few days which was very nice. We didn't do anything too earth shattering other than going to Zanesville so I could shop and then going to Red Lobster (I love the cheddar bay biscuits) And now on Saturday I am headed North so we can spend a few days with his parents at their cottage in Michigan. I am pretty excited to get a few days of doing absolutely nothing and getting lots of reading done!!
I have started a new challenge or goal for myself for the summer. I am going to read 20 books before school starts. I think I am up to 10 at the moment. I just finished "Something Borrowed" last night, which was a very good book. Mom told me it must be good because I was very anti-social and Luke agreed saying that I would not even play with him... The book is the first in a series and is about a girl, Rachel, who falls in love with her best friend's fiance. The fiance feels the same way and it turns into an all out affair. Rachel must choose which she cares more about, her best friend from childhood who has drifted away and is selfish or her one true love. It is a great book and I am hoping to get to read all of the other books in the series soon! I have a list started of the books I want to finish out my challenge, which include the remainder of Jodi Picoult's books I have yet to indulge in, "Water for Elephants" which Larene is constantly telling me I need to read and a few others, so any recommendations are welcome!
Pat had inherited a new truck for himself. His Dad has bought a Jeep Wrangler and so Pat was able to get his old one. While his truck is still not as big as mine :) he is a step closer!
Other than all that we have been up to is working to make some money! I work 6 days a week at the Warehouse so if you are looking for a nice dinner come on in and make sure to request me!! Pat is working long hours as well and while we both like to complain about our jobs, we both know we are lucky to have one.
I am also playing in a co-ed softball league in Lake Park on Sundays. It is a lot of fun and I am really glad to be back playing softball. I really got rusty not playing for years but I am finally starting to get back into it, I think.
Well that is all for now. I have a little 5 year old beside me begging to take him swimming so I better fulfill my auntly duties!
