I Made It!!

So I achieved my goal! I read 20 books this summer. I had to squeeze the last one in the day before I moved back eventhough I could have gone till Sunday but I had to give it back to the library before we came back! Here is the list of all the books I read:

1. Teach Like Your Hair Is on Fire
2. Harvesting the Heart - Jodi Picoult
3. Sisters - Danielle Steel
4. The Rescue- Nicholas Sparks
5. The Essential 55- Ron Clark
6. The 10th Circle- Jodi Picoult (Now a Lifetime Movie)
7. The Art of Racing in the Rain - Garth Stein
8. Something Borrowed - Emily Giffin
9. One for the Money- Janet Evanovich
10. A Long Way Down- Nick Hornby
11. Two for the Dough - Janet Evanovich
12. Second Glance - Jodi Picoult
13. The Wedding - Nicholas Sparks
14. Girls in Pants The 3rd Summer of the Sisterhood- Ann Brashares
15. The Glass Castle- Jeannette Walls
16. True Believer - Nicholas Sparks
17. Forever in Blue 4th Summer of the Sisterhood- Ann Brashares
18. Water for Elephants- Sara Gruen
19. Morrie: In His Own Words- Morrie Schwartz
20. The Memory Keeper's Daughter- Kim Edwards
The only ones I wouldn't recommend are A Long Way Down and In His Own Words!

So now my next challange is to read all of Nicholas Sparks' books and Jodi Picoult's books. I am aiming for the end of the semester of this one because usually Picoult's books are pretty lengthy and I have some other reading to do for my classes. Wish me lucK@!

Just something I found

So today instead of finishing packing, I was pushing my Stumble button, (for those that do not know about Stumble, it is a great application that you fill out our interests and when you are bored all you do is push the Stumble button and it comes up with webpages that you may be interested in!) and came across the 36 rules to life and wanted to share them with the people who may read this! My favorite in number 26

The 36 Rules of Life

7. Not one shred of evidence supports the notion that life is serious.
8. A person who is nice to you but rude to the waiter, is not a nice person.

1 4. Men are from earth. Women are from earth. Deal with it.

20. There is always one more imbecile than you counted on.
21. Experience is a wonderful thing. It enables you to recognize a mistake when you make it again.
22. By the time you can make ends meet, they move the ends.
23. Thou shalt not weigh more than thy refrigerator.
24. Someone who thinks logically provides nice contrast to the real world.
25. It ain’t the jeans that make your butt look fat.
26. If you had to identify in one word the reason why the human race has not achieved it’s full potential, that word would be ‘meetings’.
27. There is a very fine line between ‘hobby’ and ‘mental illness.’
28. People who want to share their religious views with you almost never want you to share yours with them.
29. You should not confuse your career with your life.
30. Nobody cares if you can’t dance well. Just get up and dance.
31. Never lick a steak knife.
32. The most destructive force in the universe is gossip.

36. Your friends love you anyway.

Almost There

Well school starts in just one week! While I am excited to start back and be with my friends once again, I am a little worried. This is my final year of being a college student. I always thought that my last year of high school would be a huge change, and it was, but college is a whole different story. After this year I will have a job to go to everyday. I will have bills to pay, a house to clean, and meals to cook. Grading papers will take up my time and I will spend countless hours trying to figure out ways to make my students excited about reading. While I can't wait for some of this, I can also wait a while for it. There will be no more lazy Saturdays with my friends just watching movies and only going out of the room when the cafeteria is open. No more midnight trips to McDonalds to get Sweet Tea. No more spending hours that we should be studying, watching YouTube videos, and so many other things that we do! It is inevitable that this is going to happen but it doesn't seem like this is the third year that Lora and I have settled into "our home." I guess all this came about as I am getting ready to go down to Rio to help with Orientation and packing up some of my stuff. In just a year we will not only not be living with each other but we will be 2 1/2 hours apart. Kinda crazy if you ask me! Wish I could go to Never Never Land and never grow up, at least for a little bit anyways!
